The Phantom Line is a video that attempts to trace the ghost of this customs border today. The artists combine their retracement of the line on Google Earth using maps and documentation from the archive with their own drive down the ‘Permit Line Road’. We swing between a fly through and an overland journey, interspersed with a single marker they found as evidence: an original British chowki from the time, a guardhouse, a surveillance chamber, a watchtower.
